Hobbies

A little more about me...I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago and currently reside in Palos Heights. Since my graduation from Elmhurst College in 2008, I have taught second, third, fourth, and fifth grade in the Chicagoland area. I also have experience teaching fifth and sixth grade overseas in places like Australia and Jamaica. These experiences helped me become the teacher I am today and develop a passion for travel. Throughout the year, I am a leader for People to People Student Ambassador Programs, an educational travel program in which we travel overseas with junior high and high school students. We spend the year preparing students for learning and travel, and then in the summer, visit places such as the Great Barrier Reef, Paris, and the Swiss Alps, to name a few. It’s truly an amazing experience to watch students grow outside the classroom and explore foreign countries, meet new people, and try new foods. When I am not teaching or traveling, I’m with my family and friends, especially my two-year old niece, Mollie. I also enjoy anything science/animal related, photography, reading, watching sports, and the outdoors.
